A custom logotype has been developed to add to the unique character of the brand and position it among the premium bourbon category; an accompanying suite of bespoke design marks incorporating classic typefaces and line drawings adds both depth and breadth to the brand while celebrating a history that stretches back seven generations. These are complemented by a bold and sophisticated earth-toned color palette that, together with black-and-white Polaroid-style photography, evocatively illuminates the Sutton family history and the brand’s authentically home-grown roots.
Referencing the old-fashioned flasks that housed Grandpa Sutton’s original bourbon, the bottle design incorporates tailored moments that straddle both past and present. Sharpened corners, tapered sides, a highball glass-inspired base and a wax seal stamped with the family crest celebrate the spirit’s hand-crafted nature, while extensive debossing including a span of seven rays on the bottle’s reverse speaks both to the brand’s heritage and the signature recipe found within. The result is a striking, tactile object that stands apart on the shelf.
